How the Test Works

1. Orientation Call

We set up a quick Zoom call to get you and your team familiar with the Riptide portal (15 - 30 min depending on questions). We are also happy to stay on the call with you and your team as you execute the test to provide support and answer any questions.

2. Login to the Riptide Portal

When you are ready to start the test, you will login to the Riptide portal and start the conversation by selecting the Driver and then entering the Customer Name, Mobile # and Opt-in for text.

3. Enter the Delivery Information

Once the conversation is started, you will be prompted to enter the following Delivery Information. This info will be auto-populated in the messages.

  • Shipper Name
  • Order ID
  • Delivery Address
  • Delivery Window

4. Send "Welcome" Message

The Customer will automatically receive the “Welcome” message via standard SMS text to the Customer’s mobile #. The Customer can reply to that text message to communicate with the Dispatcher and the Driver (once the driver joins the conversation).

5. Send "Invite" Message

The Driver will automatically receive the “Invite” message via standard SMS text to the Driver’s mobile #. The Driver can reply to that text message to communicate directly with the Dispatcher (we call this the “back channel” since only the Driver & Dispatcher are communicating and NOT the customer).

6. Driver Joins The Conversation

The “Invite” message also contains a link, that when clicked by the Driver, will open a web app on their mobile phone and they will join the 3-way conversation that the Dispatcher and Customer are already on. The Dispatcher will see both conversations in the Riptide portal and be able to message them as needed.
